Bloemfontein designer Casper Bosman-Crous is a busy man. Not only does he dress celebrities like Lorna Maseko, Christina Storm and two reigning Miss South Africas, Melinda Bam and Rolene Strauss, but he will also design the pageant dresses of the 12 finalists in the 2015 Miss South Africa contest.
After completing his studies in Pretoria, Casper interned at Wonderbra. Having first worked as a stylist, he then joined the visual merchandising and design team for Hilton Weiner and Jenni Button in Cape Town. In 2007, he moved to Bloemfontein where he started his own label, which includes bespoke wedding gowns and evening wear. A ready-to-wear collection is currently in the pipe-line, and he will also attend SA Fashion Week for the first time in 2015.
EGAFD alumna Lena Lisa Retief has been employed at Casper Designer Wear since the start of the year, and just this week, Elizabeth received this e-mail from the company:
Trust that you are well.
Firstly I want to congratulate you with the amazing training you give your students!! We are extremely happy with Lena Lisa Retief!! …”
Now this is high praise indeed coming from an expert.
Thank you, Lena Lisa for being a credit to the Academy, and keep up the good work!
