Attendance Policy 2025

The academic schedule is designed to accommodate the allocated contact hours required per learning unit to meet the necessary outcomes, and the attendance of these scheduled hours is paramount to the success of the student. Please tick the following statements to acknowledge that you have read and understood them accordingly:

Class:

All contact classes, as indicated on the academic schedules, must be attended.

No remote access will be allowed for scheduled contact classes. This includes Zooming into a class, WhatsApp videoing into a class or recording the class in any way.

Attendance Tracking:

Facilitators are to record student attendance habits and record concerns on the EG student management system.

Valid reasons for absenteeism must be communicated via email to the relevant facilitators on or before the scheduled contact class to be missed and should be accompanied with the relevant certification.

Student attendance will be reviewed mid-year, and attendance warning letters will be administered and sent to students of concern as well as their parents or guardians.

Examples of unacceptable excuses for absenteeism include:

Personal or other travel

Birthday or special occasions

Personal commitments e.g. Airport pick-ups and drop-offs, viewing accommodation, home maintenance etc.
