Mr Reese Mann

The year is fast drawing to a close, and external moderation has just taken place.

Prof Anne Mastamet-Mason from Tshwane University of Technology came to review the Academy’s academic offering in terms of NQF level 6 and 7 standards, and has once again declared herself well satisfied with what is being done here. As a good moderator should, she has also left us with a suggestion or two, among which that we place more focus on eco-fashion, as this aspect of the industry is becoming increasingly important.

Also visiting us last week was Reese Mann, representative of the City&Guilds of London Institute. As a City&Guilds approved centre, EGAFD is, authorized to offer certain internationally recognized City&Guilds qualifications in addition to, but concurrent with the Academy’s own diploma course. This means that a technically competent student can receive a City&Guilds diploma through the Academy while continuing to study towards a NQF level 6 or 7 qualification.

Mr Mann expressed the opinion that the Academy not only meets, but often exceeds the high standards set by City&Guilds, and that we have students producing work well capable of holding its own at international level.

We at Elizabeth Galloway take pride and believe in what we do. Nonetheless it is gratifying to receive the endorsement of such knowledgeable people as Prof Mastamet-Mason and Mr Mann, and we will strive to further enhance the reputation we have as an educational institution of excellence.
