Easter Bunny by shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood

It’s hard to believe, but the first three months of 2016 have almost gone.

EGAFD first year students have settled in well, and after a very industrious first academic quarter, everyone is ready to catch their breath and just chill for a few days.

All activities do not cease at the Academy over the holidays, though. On the 19th of March, Jeanette de Jager is presenting a Saturday workshop titled “A Day in the Life of a Fashion Buyer” which promises to be very informative, especially for those interested in following that specific career path.

The very popular Photography and Styling workshop for high school students will once again be presented from the 30th of March to the 1st of April. This is a fun event for the holidays, where one also learns a lot!

Friday the 1st of April is also the date of our next Open Day, when prospective fashion students can visit the campus and find out what our courses entail. For more information on this as well as the workshops, you can phone Avuya at tel. (+27) 021 880 0775, or e-mail info@elizabethgalloway.co.za .

The second year students will be participating in the Matric Dance Fashion Show shortly after the holiday (Saturday the 9th of April at Venue D’Aria, Durbanville).

And when they return for the second quarter on the 4th of April, the most exciting part of the year begins for the third year students. They will be designing and producing their self-expression ranges for the Graduate Fashion Event on the 27th of August, and the rest of us are simply dying of curiosity already!

Have a relaxing autumn break, everybody.
