The annual EGAFD fashion event took place at 401 Rozendal on Saturday September 5th, 2015.
For those unfortunate enough to have been unable to attend, we bring selected images from the shows, courtesy of Simon Deiner / SDR Photo.
The first years displayed shift dresses, as well as shorts.
The second year students participated with coats, and a couple of Chocolate-inspired dresses. Some sharp suits by third years were also sent down the ramp.
Of course the main purpose of the event is to showcase the current crop of Graduates’ Self-Expression ranges, and without further ado, here is the Class of 2015 with their designs.
For the second year now, the Academy has also offered and Advanced Diploma in Fashion, which can be followed either over one year full-time, or two years part-time. Three students completed the course in 2015.
As is evident, designs ran the gamut from fun and imaginative, through classy office outfits and trendy streetwear, to elegant occasion wear. If this is anything to go by, we are all going to be dressing beautifully in the years to come.
* As agreed with Elle Magazine the ranges of Alexia Hechter and Daisie-Jo Grobler are not included in this blog, as they are finalists in the “Elle Rising Star” competition, which has still to be judged. Watch this space!
